Testimony:  I was born and raised LDS, and like my peers (living in Utah), I was baptized at 8. When I was growing up, I always tried to do the right thing,   But my 13 year marriage was a wake-up call. I had four kids, and served in the primary and young women presidencies. My husband was a member of the bishopric.and verbally abusive. My divorce was my trial by fire.  It was messy, but I can truly say I was ministered by angels along the way.

One particularly rough morning I stopped at a picture crudely tacked to the wall by my mother, the one of Jesus praying in Gethsemane.  I was immediately overcome with an indescribable warmth. I felt Jesus’ comforting arms around me. I heard him speak my name telling me that the pain and grief he suffered in Gethsemane was not only for all the sins in the world, but for the pain put upon us by others- pain like mine. It was then that I knew.  I knew of God’s love for me.  I knew that Jesus had been sent to suffer and die to ease my burdens and the suffering of others who are willing to put their trust in him. Since that time, I have learned that a full testimony of the restored gospel comes line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little. I am still learning and adding to my testimony daily.
